"Group 12 PSA" comment

More and more stray dogs have been walking on the street. After they have been caught, if no one wants to adopt them, they will be killed. I think we should stop purchasing the dogs. We can adopt them instead. I think it is painful to watch these animals wandering on the street and no one wants to help them. If you can't raise a dog, please don't just throw them away. It would cause more problems. Because of your abandon and purchasing, more animals need adoption. If you want a pet, please give them a chance to be adopted. With both two print ads, I can feel the emergency of animal adoption. Take action to help those animals.

Their topic is Handicapped help. This has been a serious issue in our society. As a healthy person, we can't experience what handicapped person needs to overcome. They can't go up stairs, or using the toilet will be inconvenient for them. I think the government should be contributed to the facilities for the handicapped people. With more and more facilities for them to use, I think their lives will be more easier. We can always give them a hand to solve their inconvenienve. Seeing the print ads they have, I think the more we can help, the more they can get. Let us do them a favor and make their lives go without limitation.

TV ad: http://iam-leaf.blogspot.com/2009/06/we-are-group-10.html

Their theme is talking about carpooling. I think the oil rates become higher and higher so carpooling could be the best way to solve this problem. Not only can it save your money, but it also can reduce the air pollution that we make. Their TV ad really shows that carpooling is a good policy for everyone. Saving the energy and money for our own benefits. Sharing with others makes our life greater. Both the print ads bring out what they try to say in the commercial. It is better to share the same car with others. We must protect the earth by ourselves.

After doing this project, I feel I have learned a lot. Not only in print ads making, but also in video making. I think our group has the great teamwork and with their ideas that I can do a better job. Through the whole project, I learned that how to deal with disagreements and accept others' opinions. I really appreciate this opptunity to make myself better.

Their TV ad is talking about sportmanship. I think their ad can bring out the spirit of sport. Every game or competition has losing and winnig, however it doesn't matter whether you lose, or win. Most important of all is that you did your best to this game without regret. If you use violence, it can't solve anything. We must fight till the end and no matter winning, or losing we still have to show our sportmanship. With their TV ad and the print ads combine, I think it is strongly convey the message to us. Don't use drugs and giving your best shot to the competition. As the ads said, "respect others, respect yourself."

Their issue is Animal abuse. Watching the TV ad makes me feel sad and painful for them. They have to suffer from tremendous pain which is done by human beings. I think the people who have done this to those animals should be shamed on themselves and be punished. As their slogan said, "Amuse them better than abuse them." I think it is good for everyone to know. With more education and carefulness, I think the problem will be less and less. I think the print ads convey the same message to all of us. When you see the animals like this, please take action to save them. Don't leave them there, but helping them.

Exercise is an important part in our life. With their TV ad, I think exercise could be fun and adventurous. Although the exercise they put was pretty aggressive, it still brings up my passionate to it. Through exercise we can be more healthier and energetic. That's what they tried to show us. I think the print ads are good. The arrangement and the slogan is well connected to the video. Though I wanted to know more about exercise from their ads, I think it is still a good TV ad and print ads. We can gain a lot from doing exercise.

"Group 5 PSA" Comment

Child abuse has been a very serious issue in the society. Many children were suffered from the parents', or relatives' abuse and they couldn't able to search for help. In their TV ad, it shows a lot of pictures about children who have been abused. I think it is very cruel to watch these kids being abused. The slogan is pretty well. No violence, no tears. I think it can give the motivation to all of us help the children that suffered from their parents. Both of them connected to the film they make. I think it our time to save those kids.

"Group 4 PSA" Comment

Their PSA theme is about Pet Care. In the beginning, it show some cute pictures such as dogs and cats. At the second part, they put some pets that their owners have abandoned them, or kept them in the cage. It is painful to see these dogs and cats suffering. I think their owners should be more responsible for their pets. They need your care. As their print ads said, It is not your toys, it is your family. I think it connected to the commerial. Both of the TV ad and print ads were done very well. I think I will help these pets to find their new home.

"Group 3 PSA" Comment

Their theme is Littering. In the video, they show us that the garbage we throw cause a lot of animals and environment became a mess. I think it is wrong to throw the trash on the street, or river. It could damage our enviornment and animals can't live in their habitants. I think it gives us a moral lesson. Their print ads are pretty good and connected to the TV ad. It deliver the message about throwing garbage can make the fishes in the river die. I really think we should protect our surrounding and don't be a litter bug.

"Group 2 PSA" Comment

Their TV ad is about Homeless. I think the video is good, but the sound and the pictures were pretty blur. It still makes me want to help these homeless people. Seeing all these homeless people makes feel sad for them. We need to give them a hand and have a shelter to live in. I like the idea of giving them a hand. The TV ad and the print ads are connected. I can see what they wanted to say. Making a home for them is the best way of what we can do for them.

"Group 1 PSA" Comment

Their topic is the teenage suicide. I think they delivered the message to us. In the TV ad, they give a strong message to tell all of us not to suicide. Showing some pictures with the parents crying and the last letter you have left. It really show the consequence when we made such deicision. I like the slogan they came up with. I think it can carry out some effect on the people who are going to suicide. Two of the print ads are done very well.

Self-evaluation

I think that our group did a very good job. We prepared this project before one or two weeks and the discussion went very well. Although there were some parts I didn't think it's perfect, small faults didn't cover the good parts. The longest part took us the most is filming because we tried to make it more perfect and kept redoing it. The team works very well, and everyone do all their work. It is glad to see our video complete in the end. I think it is a very good experience I can learn from.

A Picture's Worth

This photo was taken during our family trip. In the photo was my father, mother, two elder sisters and myself. We went to an amusement park in Kaohsiung, and we asked a relative to help take a picture of us. At that time, I was seven years-old, but I can’t memorize the scenes in there. I just remembered some parts of the memories. My family was very happy back then which I didn’t know was that it was the last photo I took with my dad. In the end of this year, my dad had passed away. I couldn’t understand what it meant when I was little. After I was growing up, I had begun to realize this is a valuable picture to preserve since it was the only thing he left me. This was the only photo that I could cherish all my life because there is no second chance to take a picture with my dad again. When I was looking at the photo, I still felt a little bit sad. I didn’t know it had happened to me. If there is something I can do, I wish I can be with my dad. There were so many things that I wanted to say to my dad, unfortunately, it was too late. I knew that think of the past wasn’t a good way to move on. Watching this photo makes me think of the happy time in the past. Things I did with him always gave me the greatest pleasure. Although it had been one of the memories, I won’t forget what we had done together. I think this photo will be priceless for our family.

Taiwan's TV Programs comments

They talked about today's TV programs and explained the effects to us.
They gave us some suggestions that many programs should consider what it would do to the audience.
Their veido was great and funny. The quality of the video is good. The speakers' voice were loud and clear. There were almost no background noise and I could listen to it very clearly. I could understand the whole content of the talk show. The speed of the show was good and made me want to listen to it more.
The add many background sound and it really caught my attention and kept listen to it.
I like the part that they made fun of themselves and it made me want to laugh. The whole show was attracting.
I didn't like the arrangement of the advertisement. I think it would be better to divide one person upstairs, and the other one went downstairs to call for help. I think it would be more funny and vivid.
I think it is nearly perfect just some fluencies need to enhance, but I think it's also their funny part in the show.

These are the programs that I think are socially relevant.

http://www.tvbs.com.tw/tvbs/t_b_a/nation/index.htm
This show is mainly talk about many issues that have related to our daily life and you can learn a lot from the show. For example, unemployee is one of the topic.

http://www.ttv.com.tw/drama/2007/SuperIdol/main.asp
Super Idol is a show about singing contest. It gives chances to the people who like to sing and release the album.

http://www.gtv.com.tw/Program/S091120040630P/
World's NO.1 is about to travel different countries and show us the life style in that country. It really can broaden my vision to the world.

These are the programs that I think are purely garbage.

http://www.settv.com.tw/taiwan/twd022/
Taiwan's soap opera. It has made a lot of people watch, but I think it's the same plot as the other drama. It is wasting time to watch and no educational effect.

http://www.niotv.com/epg_content.php?content_id=14636&epg_name=%E4%B8%AD%E5%A4%A9%E9%A7%AD%E5%AE%A2%E8%B6%99%E5%B0%91%E5%BA%B7
This is a politics show. I think it have nothing to discuss about it. It didn't give much help to our society.

http://www.ettoday.com/ettv_tv/events/game/
I think this show didn't have much meaning in it. They just play games and make fun of the audience. It is not creative.

Taiwan News comments

They were discussing about Taiwan's news media in our society and how it affect our lives.
They had provided some suggestinons. Stop talking more about the negative news, instead, reporting more about the good side of the society. I think we should do together to improve our news media.
The quality of the recording is not so bad.
The hosts' voice were loud and clear, but the other characters' voice were not so loud and I can't listen very well.
There were no background noise affect their performences.
I think the pacing of the delivery is good. I still can understand what they were saying.
They used many background music and sound effects. It caught my attention and make the show not so boring.
I like the sound they used in the show because they connected very well and the background music is also very well.
I didn't like the advertisement because it didn't sound like they were selling the product and make me not interests in.
I think some of the characters should speak more clear and loud so that I can understand more about the show.
Yellow journalism is type of downplays legitimate news in favor of eye-catching headlines that sell more newspapers. It may feature exaggerations of news events.
Taiwan's media often over exaggerate the fact of the news to catch audiences' eye. They also twist another one's speech to make a headline. Our lives have been filled with these kind of news and become unable to recognize the truth or wrong. The entertainers suffer the most because of their popularity and status in sociey. Taiwan's media tried to dig out all the secret from their past and turn it into bad image to make the audiences shooked. In recently, the media keep reporting one singer's wife had a love affair with another actor. They emphasized on this event and kept searching the deep details. I think we should give them a break and let them solve the problems by their own.
