Group 8 self-evaluations

I think strengths of our podcast is the voices were quite clear and the pace of the delivery were pretty well.
The weakness is the microphone. One of the microphone's voice was too low, so there were some background noise that affect the show.
I think I have gave some ideas to the team and the things I need to improve is that my lines should be more specific and include more medical information.
I learn to use the recording program and how to create a podcast show.
From other teammates script, there were other language skill I can learn. Some medical words and the program of recording. It gives me more practical experience from the show.

A Woman's Place (Working Moms) comments

They were talking about the working moms.
They gave suggestions to the working moms. Even though you are working, you still need to pay attention to your children.
The quality of the recording was so-so.
The voice of the speakers were clear and loud.
There were many backgroung noise, but it didn't affect their sound. I can still understand what they were talking.
The pacing of the delivery was not bad.
There had background music and it gave me a soft feeling.
I like the music they put on. I think it make the listeners relaxing.
I didn't like the quality of the recording because there were many noise.
I think they can remove the noise, then I think it will be fine.
In the past, Men are considered to be the master of the house and Women are regarded as a house-wife. I think the role of men and women should not be limited by the old point of view. Men and women can be whatever the role they want.


1. Societies are in trouble because women have jobs outside the home.
Opposite idea: Men have caused much of society's problems because most leaders are men.

2. Women are naturally suited to raising children.
Opposite idea:I can't deny that women have maternity to their children, but I think men also have the ability of raising children. Things can't divided into men or women.

3. Men are natural leaders.
Opposite Idea:There were more and more women have the ability of leading, so men were not born to be a leader.

4. A man's place is outside the home, working to support the family.
Opposite idea:I think men could also stay at home and let women work outside the home, supporting the whole family.

5. Children need the help, love, and support that only mothers who are in the home can give.
Opposite idea:Fathers can also give help, love and support to their children. It's not necessary that only mothers can do.

A mother's Story (Capital Punishment) comments

They were talking about whether to abolish the capital punishment or not.
They gave some advice to the topic which is the capital punishment is not necessary and many countried have stopped doing this.
The quality of the recording is not very good.
The characters spoke loud, but the sound was very blurred that I could't hear completely.
I think there weren't many background noise. The problem was the sound of delivery which was poor.
The pacing of the delivery is OK.
There were background music. They had caught my attention to the talk show.
I like the atmosphere in the show. It was very relaxing and made people more want to hear.
I didn't like the quality of the recording as I mentioned above. I couldn't understand what they were talking about.
I think the content of the show is good. The only thing they have to do is just record it once again.
In my opinion, I think that one should give him/her the death penalty depends on his/her guilt. If one can't be forgivable, then I think it should use the death penalty.
I think it depends on how serious the crime you did. Of course, capital punishment is another form of killing, but sometimes I think it still be needed. If the person you release that kill another people again, then I think it's the time to take action to him. He should be responsible for what he did. Many people would ask why don't give him/her a second chance. Instead of asking this question, why don't we ask him/her wouldn't give the second chance to the person you kill. I think it's very controversial. It's really hard to decide a person's death, but we must think carefully about this before to let them out.

International (long distance) relationships comments

They were talking about how to deal with the long distance relationship.
They have provided three solutions : Keep communicating, Be honest and Trsut each other.
The quality of the recording is very good.
The speakers all spoke very clear and loud.
There just one scene that the background noise covered the speaker himself.
The pacing of the characters was stable and I can understand.
They just put the background music at the first opening and rest of the scenes didn't use it. It didn't have much effect in it.
I like the style of the video because it's very funny. They add subtitle on the film so that we can understand more easily.
I didn't like the scene to deliver the title because the words were messy and blurred.
I think they can add in more background music and make the scene for the title more clear.
I think the advantage of long distance relationship is that you don't have to see him/her very often, so you don't feel much pressure. On the contrary, you will miss each other very much and want to be with him/her all the time. Keeping in touch with each other becomes a part of the life. Another advantage is that you can be more independent to your lover. Don't have to rely on oneself so much time. The problem is one could look for another relationship without let you know. In the end, you may think he/she is cheating on you and make yourself more vulnerable. Trust and be faithful to your lover is very important. You had better think carefully before you have a long distance relationship.

Friends and lovers comments

Their topic is about can a close friend without being a lover and discuss the situation between this kind of relationship.
They give their opinions, but I think there is no difinite answer to it. It is a personal choice and we can't decide for them.

Yes, they can. I know that some of my friends keep this relationship like that. I think that's because their personality don't fit together, but they can also be a good friend. I think no one will reject that it is bad for having too much friend.
My best friend is nice, tall, dramatic and talktive.
I think he is easy-going and funny. We can talk a lot of things about our lives and I think his personality is easy to get along with. We won't give too much pressure on each other.

I suggest them look at the bright side and calm yourself down. If it's your fault, you can make apology to him/her. If he/she doesn't accept it, then maybe you should let them go. There are many people you can find to be your friend or lover in the future. If it's their fault, you can try to forgive him/her. Eventually, you will meet someone who treats you sincerely or loves you truely. Don't just think it's all your fault, then you will make yourself upset. Don't be foolish to hurt yourself because you won't be happy by doing this. I think you should get rid of this thoughts and move forward. Then you can find that life isn't so bad.

Traffic jam/Transportation in Kaohsiung comments

They were talking about foreigners comes to Kaohsiung what transportation can they take and how do they think about the traffic in the city.
They provided several ways to go to the destination and gave some suggetions to the traffic in the show.
I think the quality of recording was ok.
Some of the characters were not loud enough and clear, so some parts I didn't understand what they were saying.
Inside the room, the background sound is good. Outside the street, I think there are too much people and cars that the noise was very loud.
Most of the characters' the pace of speaking was fine.
There some sound effects were used and I think they can add more to make the film more interesting.
I like their acting because I think it's really funny.
I didn't like the quality of video, some were blurred that can't see very well.
I think if the noise can be a little bit quiet would be fine.
I think there still are some problems about the transportation in Koahsiung. Even though the MRT has been bulit up, but the buses which take us to the MRT aren't fast enough. It can waste a lot of time in waiting for the buses. People don't know exact time when the bus would come, so the government should improve the convenience of the transportation. They should make more buses to take the passengers to their destination and make a sign telling the passengers how long they will be waiting. If the conveniece of the transportation were improved, I think more and more people are willing to take public transportation instead of ridine the motorcycle, or driving. The air pollution in Koahsiung will reduce and the traffic won't be so busy. I hope one day Koahsiung can be more convenient.
